The Atmosphere of VIETNAM
A scared place for raw materials of glass: Vietnam - Vision of the future

I. The main ingredient of glass: Producing areas of silica sand

Transparency of glass is always desirable to those that deal with glass bottles for cosmetics. Around the world there are several places that produce good quality silica sand. Flattery (Australia), Sarawak (Malaysia) and Tonkin (Vietnam) are famous producing areas of silica sand.
The importation of Vietnamese silica sand into Japan started in 1925 and continues to the present day. Vietnamese silica sand has few impurities and its high purity makes it the best raw material for glass industry. At Koa Glass, a lot of Vietnamese silica sand is currently being used. Of course, there is also 100% self-sufficiency in the Vietnamese domestic glass industry as well.
It would not even be an exaggeration to say that the beautiful transparent glass color of Koa Glass is down to the Vietnamese silica sand. Above all, the white silica sand of Da Nang in the Tonkin region has the absolute highest quality.

II. The Sea Route Kingdom of Vietnam

1st - 2nd century, from Rome, Arabia and India to China and Japan (Kyushu), Silk, pearls, spices, kyara, incense, porcelains, Arabian horses and more would go back and forth through the Strait of Malacca, Peninsular Malaysia and this Sea Route Kingdom.
There is no doubt that Vietnam played an important role as a critical point in this route. Analysis of the high precision of the glass itself and of the coloring ingredients of the glass has made it clear that the glasses imported to Japan around the 5th century were those of India and Southeast Asia. There are indicators that sea route already existed as a trade route by sea from Southeast Asia to China and Kyushu.

The cosmetics market in Vietnam continues to follow a steady increase year by year. There were a great many exhibits from Asian countries, such as Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore. There were also several companies from Japan with exhibits.
Various cosmetic-related companies from all over the world took part in plans to aim at expanding the market. In the future, there is no doubt that the Asian market will become increasingly larger.

IV. The daily living environment in Vietnam suggests the vision of the future will turn into reality

Motorbikes pass through the whole town that blends together the scenery of the past and present. Around two years ago it became a requirement in Vietnam to wear a helmet when riding a motorbike. Helmets of various designs decorate the whole town. The unchanging scenery calms the body and spirit. Sunshade hats that are unique to Vietnam and the national costume of Ao Dai are still very much evident.
It is possible to see famous brand stores from all over the world in department stores. Cosmetic manufacturers are aiming to expand the market and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that they are pouring their efforts into this task. The vision of the future will surely soon turn into reality.
